As I write this post today, someone right up the road in Simpsonville, SC has won the MEGA MILLIONS lottery! According to WYFF News-4, “The $1.6 billion prize reflects the annuity option, paid over 29 years. However, nearly all winners take the cash option, which for Tuesday’s drawing was an estimated $913 million.” South Carolina is one of eight states where the winner(s) can remain anonymous – a very good idea by the way.
While I admit that, thanks to the Three Generations Boutique, I have boosted the Simpsonville economy more than most people, I confess I do not purchase lottery tickets. But hey! If you are the lucky winner, you’ve got a friend in me!
By my calculations, this November I will have been “publically” writing for 26 years. In November, 1992, I formed the Independent-Mail’s monthly employee newsletter, on the QT. I wrote an HR column, edited, published and distributed the QT to our sister newspapers and corporate office for 19 years. I’ve been writing ever since.
In 2009, I formed C3 Career Care, an HR consulting company, and in May 2010, this corresponding blog, Career Chit-Chat. The joys of speaking, conducting workshops, teaching, facilitating, and training followed.
All my life I’ve been told that I need to write a book. For those who know me well, you know the possibilities and subjects are endless – my life experiences are beyond believable. Truth is stranger than fiction. Like winning the lottery – new beginnings! The time for that book or books is on the horizon.
You readers, my family, friends and colleagues have been so kind and faithful to have followed and supported me all these years. I want to continue this blog and to extend my communication on as many platforms and in as many ways as far as God will take it. your feedback means the most to me.
What I would love most are your thoughts and suggestions on subjects you would like to hear about, questions you have, stories you want to hear, not only through Career Chit-Chat but in book format. Career Chit-Chat posts do not all relate to the workplace, but most all relate to the ‘life place.’
I covet and appreciate any and all feedback as I begin my next chapter! My email: becky@theC3connection.com is the best way to reach me.
As we enter the month of Thanksgiving, please accept my genuine appreciation for who you are and what you have meant to me all these years. The best is yet to come! I pray you will continue on the journey with me.
May light touch the place where you fear to go,
May love embrace what you don’t yet know.
May you hear the call of your Soul’s sacred song.
May you come home to yourself, it’s where you belong.
