The world never stays the same. Why should you? You’ve got to be the spark, the catalyst for change.
Get off that couch and leap out of the boat!
Because we are human, fear NEVER goes away. If we succumb to our fears and insecurities and allow the opportunity to pass, we become more hardened and apt to take the safe way out again and again.
Risk is always about the future. Taking risks is the vehicle to your future. You aren’t likely to get there by staying where you are.
Everyone’s journey will be filled with hopes, dreams, challenges, setbacks, and goodbyes….
…it was obvious my impulsive request was a pathetic by-product of my total thoughtlessness for the man in front of me.With every good intention of being thoughtful to someone else, I had totally lacked courtesy and had been unkind to the legendary NASCAR driver.
Kindness is noticing someone else and recognizing his needs, i.e. seeing value in every person we meet.
I am extraordinarily attuned to the importance of aligning your gifts and abilities with your passions to pursue your life’s work. What saddens me these days is how many people have given up their dreams and no longer believe they can respond in a successful way to the stirrings in their souls.
Life has a way of throwing up barricades, especially as we close in on success and the realization of our dreams.
“It’s a recession when your neighbor loses his job, and it’s a depression when you lose your own.
”The trouble with steeling yourself against the harshness of reality is that the same steel that secures your life against being destroyed secures your life also against being opened up and transformed.
Guard your fragile life carefully. Only God can shape a flower, but any foolish child can pull it to pieces.
Around every corner is another gift waiting to surprise us.
Happiness and gratitude are so intertwined that you cannot have one without the other.
The things you learn in maturity seldom involved information and skills. We learn by accepting the obligations of life, by suffering, by taking risks, by loving, by bearing life’s indignities with dignity.
Embracing chaos and discomfort is a by-product of relinquishing control of your world. “A Dreamer is a person whose life is in motion….I tell motivated Dreamers that if they’re not encountering a Comfort Zone issue regularly, something is wrong,” (Bruce Wilkinson).
Chaos makes us hungry for power and order of our lives. Being in control gives us a false sense of dominance, makes us feel important and needed. It masks our apprehensions and gives us a game plan….You likely believe this self-importance is doing everyone a favor, dictating order, maintaining status quo under the pretense and power (conscious or not) of caring for the health and well-being of your company, co-workers, family members and friends.
I believe that charm is one of the strongest things in the world. … a magic armour against all the hurtful, sordid things of the world….. to keep (your)self pure and untouched by the ugly things of life, and to look for beauty in everything
